Creating a huge ski area with neighbouring Tignes, there are plenty of slopes to hit at Val d’Isere. Once you’re done, try heading to the infamous Folie Douce Après ski bar, which offers live funk and soul when the sun is up and house and electric after dark. St Anton is home to 2am beers and one of the deepest snow bases in the Alps. The Krazy Kangaroo bar is particularly raucous, and it offers a ski jump from the deck. You’ll find most bars and clubs still buzzing through to the early hours.

If you can swing a trans-Atlantic journey, Aspen is where it’s at. You’ll find less clubbing here, but there are plenty of lodge-style bars offering dazzling selections of craft beers, and who doesn’t love that everything’s in English?

Meribel is part of the sprawling Three Valleys ski sea, but it’s equally famous for its thriving social scene. The Rondpoint is one of the most legendary establishments, and you really need to take a sample or two of their famous Toffee Vodka. You’ll find plenty of live sets and DJs turning up the bass until 4am.

Saalbach is probably the least-known resort on our list, but its nightlife rivals the big boys. There are five nightclubs that never go through the night quietly, and floodlighting illuminates the slopes below the Unterschwarzach lift to make sure you can keep skiing at night after you’ve danced on the tables and slaked your thirst for glühwein.
Sure, you’ll be going for the snowboarding and skiing, but uni trips would be nothing without a few big nights out. Heading to any of these resorts will see you with plenty of options for fun once you pop off your boots.
