I’m On My Way

Welcome, fellow travellers to the blog that encourages you to follow your dreams in any way you see fit. My name is Arthur Luther and I hail from the rather less than sunny city of Bristol in the United Kingdom. For ten years of my life, I worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the city. Life was decent enough. I had my own place, a respectable job and wasn’t struggling for money.

Picking Up The Travel Bug

Once I had established myself in my career, I started travelling to different cities and cultural sites with the aim of learning more about the world around me. It was during this period that I was bitten by the travel bug and it wasn’t long before every waking thought was focused on where I was going to go next.

As you can imagine, this wasn’t exactly conducive to my work as a Mechanical Engineer. Most people would manage to push their wanderlust to one side, but for me, things were a little different. The more I read different travel blogs and found out about new places, the more I wanted to do all of those things myself.

My job was holding me back from what I really wanted to do in life. So I quit.

Life As A Traveller

I’m not going to lie. Quitting my job to travel is one of the scariest things I have ever done. I was filled with a strange mix of emotions. Excitement and adrenaline ran through my veins at the prospect of seeing all of the things I had been missing out on, but I was very anxious about how I was going to make a living while on the move.

Still, I had a little nest egg put aside so I set out. I visited Bruges, Prague, Milan, Berlin, and so many beautiful cities, but it was my journey to Australia that really helped me to discover what I wanted from my travels. It was here where I began surfing, bodyboarding and scuba diving and I have searched out similar activities in all of my travels since.

Starting Trave1Blogs

When I started travelling full-time, I found that the best way to earn a little income was to work in seasonal jobs. I’ve worked in bars, shops, and hotels over the last few years, all with the aim of funding my next adventure. However, my ambition was to follow in the footsteps of the amazing travel bloggers who had inspired me to take my own journey.

That’s where this blog becomes important to my story. I started it soon after quitting my job and have been using it ever since to talk about my adventures, what I have learned and the various gear and books that have helped me along the way.

My Dreams For The Future

Today, I am able to earn an income from Trave1Blogs through selling banners and advertising travel agents, gear and books that have helped me along the way. The blog also lets me share more of what I have done with all of you wonderful people.

My aim for the future is to keep doing what I’m doing right now, as my adventures will lead to this blog growing even more.
